A question for The Void

So, I’m working on several writing projects at the moment. However, the only one that really brings up emotion and (I think) is the strongest writing has to (of course) do with horses. What’s my solution here? Do I only write about horses because that’s my best work? How do I pull that strength of prose into my other subjects?

Thoughts? Encouragement? A magazine that will publish long, sappy horse stories for a premium fee?

  1. Why dont you write a book about horses?? How much did you love reading the Saddle Club and the thourghbred series?? What about Black Beauty and the black Stallion??? I still read them! I know you will awesome at it and I will read it. 🙂

  2. Weeell, let me preface this with some sap. I BELIEVE in you… Dani Nichols… the writer. And, I would pay to read what you write about for free. <3

But, I think that most people love and can relate to stories of a human connecting with an animal. Also, I have always been super interested when you would talk about the way people on a farm feel about animals too. I think that is a subject where "city folk" (ha ha) find it hard to relate to those feelings but would want to hear more in an attempt to understand.

I agree with Kristy… stories that help people to appreciate and be more compassionate towards animals… always get my vote!

  3. I love your stories about horses – and about anything, really. I’m sure there are outdoor magazines that would publish stories about horses. I agree with Christina that stories of humans connecting with animals are a good sell.

I hope that helps – there is such passion in your writing and I believe it WILL make its way out into the world. 🙂 And when you write a book about horses I will totally buy it.

  4. Umm… I think there is an OBVIOUS solution here that we are all missing.

CLEARLY your alternative is to write about me!

See? You’ve found your inspiration again, now haven’t you?

Geez… do I have to do all the heavy lifting around here?

    😉
