Introducing our daughter, Adelay Joy
Y’all – we have a baby girl.
Just let that sink in for a minute. I very publicly expressed my impatience and frustration right here. You got to see me cry over the long wait, ask God for a miracle, accept the hard obedience and learn to find joy in a lengthy expedition.
Then, one day, we got a phone call. We got on a plane in the middle of the night and drained our savings accounts.
One of these days I will write down her story, but for now I just want to stress that I have never felt the presence and power of God as much as I have in the last six weeks, since we got that phone call. He moved mountains, answered specific and far-fetched prayers, calmed our fears, surrounded us with love, accompanied us on the expedition of a lifetime.
He is the builder of bridges, the maker of family, the giver of good gifts. I’m overwhelmed and grateful, and I can’t believe I get to say this, but I’m a mom.
