I asked on my Facebook page what you all want for a shopping post (since lately, I have been the slackingest blogger-face in all the lands) and EVERYBODY wants boots which just proves to me that my readers have impeccable taste.

So… to kick off (ha! get it?!) out boot-lovin’ round-up, let’s head over to Anthropologie.

Are these not the cutest things you’ve ever seen? These make me want to wear a skirt and have a picnic in a park with fall colors and a basket of cheese and wine.

Everyone who knows me knows that I have a soft spot for military styles, so I am thrilled that the combat boot is back this season with a feminine twist. I would love to hook these up like my pal Rachel (Summer) with a sweet dress, jacket and a slightly irritated face.

It’s not often that a shoe makes you want to curl up next to a fireplace with a good book and a loyal doggie, but our next one sure does. Check out this shaggy, cozy little beauty from Piperlime.

I LOVE wedges. Unfortunately, I’m already tall, so I don’t think that a serious wedge like this one would be super flattering, but I could be convinced. Also, all of my little cute friends should probably buy these. Now.

Our next boot is a traditional riding boot from Frye, who I have on good authority is one of the best bootmakers of all time.

(swoon) This is one of the prettiest boots I’ve ever seen, which explains the crazy price tag. I imagine Fanny Price going riding in these boots, through the hills and dales surrounding Mansfield Park.

Next up are some cozy, sensible, time to go caroling or visiting or tramping about boots.

I love these. They seem comfortable without being sloppy and sensible without resorting to Carhartt workwear status. My only gripe is that they are a touch expensive for a clearly casual look, but they are not a trendy style and would probably last several seasons easily.

My next pair is also from Sundance, picked primarily because they seem like a great deal and I LOVE the color:

Aren’t they beautiful? I love the grey and slight cowboy-ish styling without being overtly western. Also, for less than $200, I’m in.

I love the latest lace-up trend, and these tall lacers from Banana Republic hit the spot.

I know that BR is not where one would typically expect to find great boots, but I can actually attest to their quality. Amazingly enough, it’s been almost three years since I married my honey, and I have BR boots that I bought for the rehearsal (yes, it was totally an “I’m getting married, I can buy whatever I want!” purchase) that are still amazingly comfortable and still bring compliments, and I wear them A LOT. So there you go, an iron-clad reason to tell yourself that you NEED these.

I’m going back to short booties one more time. Check out these pretty boots from Boden:

These are the perfect, professional bootie. I love the color, the laces, the look – so classy and cute! Can you imagine these with a great grey trouser? I can, and it’s adorable. (In contrast, Boden apparently needs my help making outfits, as the outfit-picker for these boots leaves our model with, well, something to be desired. Like actual clothing.)

My last pair of boots comes from my supple leather lover, the home of all things that make my heart go pitter-patter: Fossil.

Fossil is fabulous. I seriously think I could buy everything they make and never find a style that I don’t like. These boots in particular are the perfect blend of unfussy and well-coiffed – like a fine wine in the company of friends, which is really what fall is all about, right? (That and fabulous boots, as we have determined). I’m going to show you the boots I recently bought myself too, although not today because I’m all out of time and need to find my camera and what-not.
