Reading about Writing
Most good writers don’t write about writing, although obviously writing takes up a good part of their life. They are interesting enough to write about things besides writing, which then means that people besides writers want to read it. I have been doing a great deal of writing lately, which means that all I think about is writing and then all I have to write about is writing, even though if I read another snippet about writing I might die. How do I write about something other than writing when writing is all I want to write about because it’s all I’m doing?
Get ready for a big reveal:
I have no idea, hence this ridiculous blog when I should be sleeping. Not writing.
PS – This little lady has been flitting around my head all day. I guess it’s fitting to post a quote from one of my favorite literary characters, who also talked and wrote about writing… at least she was charming:
Jo March: If I weren’t going to be a writer I’d go to New York and pursue the stage. Are you shocked?
Laurie: Very.
